Sarah Ballard, M.A., is a visiting professor at Pepperdine University and adjunct faculty member at California State University Channel Islands, both in communication. She teaches courses in conflict management, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, family communication, and communication theory. Prior to university teaching, she had a successful counseling practice specializing in international and transracial adoption and she was a sought after adoption speaker and trainer. In her personal life she is married to Bert Ballard who was adopted from Vietnam as an infant. They have two biological, biracial, teen daughters and a 9 year old son adopted from Vietnam. She also has four adopted siblings from Korea.
